Mike Barbour
Mike is a Laramie native who has worked 29 of his 31 year hair career in Historic Downtown Laramie. He together with his spouse Monika opened The Palatium in May of 2000, and in 2012 they expanded and partnered with Aveda. Mike believes that his longevity in the hair world is due to his commitment in continuing to invest in education for a loyal group of guests that have chosen to frequent The Palatium for their hair needs.
These days Mike stands behind the chair 20 hours a week while sharing his time as a Sales Associate at Hammontree Real Estate. In his spare time Mike enjoys spending time in the outdoors skiing, camping, hiking, exploring, and spending time with his adult family and 4 grandkids! In the future Mike plans on gaining more experiences through lots of travel.
Monika Barbour
Hi there! I’m Monika! I am the proud wifey of Mike, momma of three amazing kiddos , emmy to 4 grandkidos, co-owner, stylist, decorator, and lover of all things hair, makeup and a skincare junkie! I began my career in the beauty industry over 13 years ago as a nail tech! This part time career allowed me the best of both worlds! Sharing my talents and love with my guests, to being present with all the adventures my kids took me on! I truly love caring for others and I am so thankful to get to do just that each and every day! It is the most amazing gift to get to see the smile on the face of someone you made feel amazing! Whether you are wanting to be adventurous in the world of colour, create the fullness and length you’ve always wanted with our hand tied extensions, need a fresh new cut, or need the right combination of premium skincare to be sure and put your best face forward to complete your look, I would love to pamper you as my guest!
Chrystol Barbour
Hey friends! I’m Chrystol and I've been a stylist at Palatium since 2014. Hair is my passion! I love to provide Brazilian Blowouts, Cut and Colour services, and Men's cuts. I also provide shorter services such as facial waxing and conditioning treatments.
Some fun things to know about me: I'm a backyard poultry farmer and beekeeper. I love competing with my husband and kids in jiu jitsu and helping coach the kids classes at our local gym. When we are not all doing jiu jitsu, my husband and I are cheering on our boys from the sidelines at their wrestling tournaments or 4-H events. I look forward to serving you!
Sierra Brinkman
I am so proud to say, I have been a part of Palatium Hair Studio for over 10 years! I attended the Aveda Institute Denver in 2010 and I’ve been obsessed with the cosmetology industry and Aveda world ever since.
My husband Stuart is a teacher and head wrestling coach for the Laramie High School. We have a 2 year old son named Dawson and a baby girl, Brooke, who was born in October! We enjoy attending any and all sporting events, along with being outside whenever we can.
I enjoy giving my clients the best service possible. Depending on the day that can mean a fresh cut and color, stellar blowout, a break to pamper themselves, good conversation or all of thee above 🥰

Mckenzie Shurtliff
I graduated from Taylor Andrews Hair Academy in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2011. I began my stylist career at Life AVEDA Salon in Utah, and have been with AVEDA ever since. I am a certified colorist, hair designer, and stylist. I have taken numerous educational classes from world famous stylists to ensure I am current with the latest styles and trends.
I am passionate about the beauty industry as I have the opportunity to be creative while helping my guests achieve their beauty goals. When I am not behind the chair, I am creating a life I love with my husband of twelve years, and our two wonderful children.
My mission is for every person who leaves my chair to be the best and most beautiful version of themselves. I can't wait to make your hair goals a reality.”
